About us

Our founders

Cathy and Augustine first met 30 years ago, while attending the 3-yr program offered by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) taught at that time by Michael Harner and Sandra Ingerman.  They have taken all of the workshops given by the FSS.

In the United States, they also attended the 2-yr teaching program given by Sandra Ingerman and her workshops “Soul Retrieval ” and “Medicine for the Earth”. In Europe, they participated in the 4-yr program taught by Claude and Noelle Poncelet as well as their workshops in Quebec. They also worked with Betsy Bergstrom in Philadelphia on depossession methods and with other shamanic teachers from different countries around the world. Since 2006, Cathy and Augustine have been teaching bilingual in-depth shamanic workshops in Quebec and both feel privileged to have shared their friendship and the opportunities encountered on their shamanic path.

Cathy Hiess has sponsored FSS workshops in Montreal for the past 22 years. Though she has now retired from sponsoring and teaching, she remains active in the shamanic community and continues to hold the drumming circle she began in 1996. She was trained as a registered nurse and is married, the mother of two sons, and grandmother of five.

Augustine Rasquin is a retired pediatrician who continues to maintain a private shamanic practice. She is the mother of three daughters and grandmother of six.

Cathy and Augustine are both experienced shamanic practitioners with active private practices in Montreal. Though they have now retired from teaching, they continue to see clients individually and remain deeply engaged in their healing work and community.
